Does screen time help or hinder creativity?

Ella Liaskos tried to figure out how distraction from work on social networks and other applications affects productivity and creativity. She talked to several artists and found out that defocus can both harm and help in the work.

Thoughts from the article:

• Attention is a limited resource. It is quickly depleted, but it can be restored if you alternate focus on the task and distracted attention

• Distraction often occurs due to low motivation to complete a task

• Taking a break from business while walking or gardening helps to restore attention

• It is important to set a limit on social media browsing in order to avoid overload and doom scrolling

• In order to be less distracted while working, you can use time trackers

New technologies

The company 1X has announced NEO Beta, a new humanoid robot that should become a household assistant. He can move objects, open doors, wash dishes, cook food and even play games. When completing tasks, he is additionally trained and becomes even more effective over time.

Engineers also used muscular anatomy instead of hydraulics, so the robot's movements look quite plastic.
